Best price on 37XV555DB Toshiba

Toshiba 37XV555DB

This is a great TV at under £500 for Full HD.

What you get is a TV with some great reviews both in magazines and if you look at the reviews on Amazon, some even as recent as a few days are giving 5 stars.

Actually I love this screen size, the wife calls anything bigger "vulgar" and it's all about give and take eh?

Something interesting on the Amazon page is a bit where it says what other people buy after visiting the page - 84% buy the TV and the closest is 6% who buy a Sony TV, the high percentage shows that a TV this size with Full HD is hard to find under £500.

I have done my routine search on Kelkoo and also looked through the forums on Rpoints for deals and Amazon wins again, sometimes they are not cheapest but then with the free postage they normally always win.

Best price on KDL-46W4500

Sony Bravia KDL - 46W4500

Even though I am out of the LCD TV buying market at the moment, as I lost this job, I just love this TV. Trying to get a friend of mine ( who loves movies so much that he has his own website www.awesomemovies.net ) to buy it. Best price at the moment is, as often, at Amazon. Have a look at the reviews on Amazon by clicking the picture below for more info. I have seen this at my local Sony Centre, they show Spiderman on this and the picture clarity is just unreal, well no, it's really real. If you have got the cash and the living room wall space then this is a TV you won't regret buying.

If you want credit then Digital Direct has the KDL 46W4500 for the same price and 12 months credit but you'll have to stump up £49.99 for delivery and another £30 for setting up the credit agreement. To offset this Digital Direct are giving a free 3 year warranty.
( free warranty is for sales upto 31st Jan ).

Buy a SONY TV now due to weak pound

Weak pound means now is the time to buy a digital TV

More evidence from the BBC this time, that right now is probably as good a time as any to buy an LCD TV.

Normally electronic goods are deflationary meaning due to the fast advances in technology, like when you buy a new car, whatever you buy will always lose a lot of value fast.

but with the pound so low and electronic firms making losses, I reckon now is the time to buy a new TV. The final piece in the perfect storm is that retailers are so desperate for sales they are cutting their margins or offering extended warranties.

Affect of weak UK pound on price of TVs

Could now be a good time to buy an LCD TV ?

With the British pound having fallen so much versus the US dollar, and British retailers struggling for sales (and so giving big discounts), now could be the time to pounce on a LCD TV bargain.

As this report from the Daily Telegraph indicates, UK electrical retailers buy the TVs from Japanese (SONY), and Korean (Samsung) manufacturers. They use US dollars for these transactions. Since the Pound has fallen so much against the US dollar, we could see higher prices on LCD TVs from mid to late 2009. It doesn't happen straight away because contracts have been agreed in advance and currency positions hedged. I expect we will first see the increased prices on televisions at the higher end of the market where retailers anticipate customers will be less price sensitive.

And so now with all the doom and gloom about the UK economy, retailers going bust, it may just be the best time to buy a new TV. Shop around. Use Kelkoo to compare prices. & consider signing up to Rpoints to get some cashback on your purchase.

Win a Samsung LCD TV and bluray player

What with the state of the UK economy and everyone worrying about the cost of living and their job security for a lot of people the only way they are going to get their eyes onto a great flatscreen LCD TV is to win one for free !

So I am always on the lookout for free to enter competitions to win an LCD TV and have found another one which I am foolishly sharing with you to reduce my chances !

Head over to this website before mid Feb to enter for your chance to win a great Samsung package of their A656 40" TV, blu ray player and speakers.

I am even going to give you the answer to this one : Superman Returns.

Good Luck - and remember me if you win ;)

Buying a flat screen, LCD TV can be quite confusing. There are so many opinions out there about what is most important in a TV. I am going to try and whittle out all the noise and figure out what is the best choice of LCD TV at the moment.
