Samsung UE40B7000 Review

The LED TV from Samsung has finally arrived. Came by DHL this morning.

It's the Samsung UE40B7000.

First thoughts :

• Plug and Play option was good, all up and running in under an hour. Guess I will tweak it later but V impressed with picture and sound straight out the box.
• The mini remote control (it comes with one "normal" one and one cute little one) is very cool.
• Am using the stand that comes with it for now. It looks good but soon I want to get it on the wall, picture frame style.
• Has a few features I didn't know about - pre loaded picture gallery of fine art with classical music and also some recipes with cooking instructions and even a game or two (haven't played yet).

I will do a full review later. . . . .when I have got to know it a but better and possibly got it online so I can talk about the Youtube tools etc.

Well thanks to Samsung making their LED TVs so amazingly thin the lady in my life suddenly started showing an interest in getting a HDTV. "One of those big posh TVs".

Luckily she has much more money than me so the Samsung UE40B7000 is already ordered and paid for and will hopefully be with us shortly....

Lush TV and spotted a cracking deal for it. Considering that Amazon are normally price leaders whenever I look I was suprised to see that not only were digital direct £70 cheaper ( well less when delivery is accounted for), but also what clinches it is the free 4 year warranty.

LED TV - better than LCD ?

Update : I have now checked the Samsung LED TVs out. Yes they are amazingly thin for their screen size, the picture looked fantastic. Of course as a shop demo it was plating Madagascar on blu ray but yer, the colours were superb.

Samsung is now selling LED TV's - LED screens are also found on laptop computers so the technology has been around for a while. Apparently LED televisions can use up to 40% less electricity than LCD TVs which in turn are more energy efficient than Plasma screens. 

The revolutionary thing about the new Samsung LED TV's is the way they put the pure white light LEDs on the side of the TV next to the frame instead of at the back as in traditional units. These reflect of millions of tiny mirrors inside the TV screen.

I haven't seen one yet but apparently the viewing is sublime, they look amazing and are really slim so are the ultimate picture frame TV's just now. They range in size from 40" to 55"
